A teacher in Hardeman County is confronting several charges following allegations of inappropriate interactions with his students.
Jason Childers, an educator at Middleton Middle School, was taken into custody on Monday and faces multiple charges, including two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, one count of aggravated sexual battery, and four counts of simple assault.
On November 1, Childers faced allegations of inappropriately touching a student’s back and sliding his hand down her backside until he made contact with her buttock.
On that same day, Childers faces allegations of inappropriately rubbing and touching another student’s back and shoulders on multiple occasions. She recounted an incident where, following Childers’ directive to leave the classroom, he took hold of her arm and “forcibly” led her into the hallway.
On November 4, a student reported that Childers purportedly touched her thigh and inner thigh while retrieving her cell phone from her lap and continued to do so even after he had taken her phone.
She further stated that Childers would frequently massage her and the arms and backs of other female students.
On November 5, a student reported that Childers purportedly moved his hand up and down her back and shoulders without her consent during class.
On that same day, Childers faced allegations of encircling a student’s waist without her permission as she walked through a school hallway.
On November 6, a student alleged that Childers inappropriately grabbed her around the waist and forcefully pushed her to one side of the hallway. The student recounted that as he held her waist, he moved his hands upward, stopping just beneath her breast.
On November 14, a student reported that a teacher at Middleton Middle School, Jason Childers, had purportedly made inappropriate contact with her buttocks.

The student reported that the event took place prior to her 13th birthday. The incident happened in Middleton Middle School in Tennessee.
An inquiry uncovered that Childers frequently expressed fondness towards female students, often using terms of endearment such as “darlin’”, “baby girl”, “sugar”, “baby”, and various other affectionate nicknames.
Every individual affected by Childers falls within the age range of 12 to 14 years old.
Childers faces charges for simple possession of Schedule 6 narcotics and tampering with evidence, following an incident where he was found with a marijuana cigarette during a traffic stop on November 18.
