Swim Instructor Arrested in California for Molesting Several Boys During Practise; Firearm and Suspected Cocaine Busted at Residence

A children’s swim instructor was arrested by Berkeley police on Thursday in connection with allegations of sexual assault involving multiple young victims, according to authorities.

Police have provided limited information, but they have managed to identify the suspect as Tyler Livingston, a 25-year-old resident of Emeryville.

Last week, the investigation was initiated by the police after receiving reports from concerned parents regarding their children’s interactions with Livingston.

“While the investigation into these cases is still ongoing, we recognize that there may be more victims that have not yet come forward,” Berkeley police said in a brief statement.

“Livingston has worked as a swim instructor in the Bay Area over the past few years and may have spent some time as a substitute teacher,” police said. “BPD wants victims and their families to know that they are not alone and encourage them to contact police.”

The police did not disclose any specific information regarding the alleged interactions.

The BPD promptly launched an investigation to prevent any additional harm, according to the police.

On Thursday morning, Berkeley police apprehended Livingston in Emeryville and executed a search warrant at a place connected to him, according to BPD.

The police have stated that they are currently unable to provide details about the specific crimes that Livingston is accused of. However, they have assured that more information will be shared once he is booked into jail.

The BPD did not disclose the age or gender of the alleged victims, but stated that the investigation is focused on multiple sex crimes involving young children.

The BPD did not provide any information regarding the number of alleged victims who have come forward or the locations where Livingston may have conducted swim lessons.

At the time of publication, Livingston had not shown up in Alameda County’s Inmate Locator system, the county’s online jail roster. Therefore, there is currently no immediate information available regarding the charges he may be facing.

There are no criminal cases listed in Alameda County Superior Court for him as reported by Berkeley Scanner.

Based on jail records, Tyler Livingston has been arrested for multiple serious offenses, including continuous sexual abuse of a child, oral copulation with a child under 10, lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 14, and sexual penetration through force or fear.

He is currently being held without bail at Berkeley Jail and is set to appear for arraignment on Monday.

The Berkeley police have reported that Livingston is facing allegations involving five boys under the age of 10 from Berkeley and nearby cities.

According to the BPD, evidence related to the crimes, an unregistered firearm, and suspected cocaine were discovered during Thursday’s search warrant operation.
