Authorities say that a girl from Massachusetts was killed by her stepfather in what looked like a murder-suicide.
A statement from Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan and Acton Chief of Police James Cogan on Thursday, May 30, said that this week, a 16-year-old girl and her stepfather Juliano Santana were found dead in Santana’s car with what looked like gunshot wounds.
Police say the suspect’s stepfather took her from school and killed her in a nearby parking lot while she was walking home. It was said by police that Santana then killed himself.
Authorities were able to find Santana by calling his probation officer. His probation officer used a GPS tracking device that was on him because of an ongoing case to find out where Santana was.
In that case, Santana’s stepdaughter also said that he had sexually abused her more than once, which happened in 2021.
Santana was arrested and charged with 6 counts of aggravated rape of a kid at the time. His bail was set at $30,000.
He met “conditions that he be placed on a GPS monitoring device, that he stay away from and have no contact with the victim and that he have no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18,” authorities said.
Authorities say that Santana’s stepdaughter also had a protection order against him.
The deaths of Santana and his stepdaughter are still being looked into.
