South Carolina Teacher Dragged Student Across Carpet and Forcefully Placed Hands on Kid’s Mouth; Slapped with Charges

A teacher at Grassy Pond Elementary School faces charges of third-degree assault and battery.

On November 8th, Heather Fish faced allegations of putting her hand on a child’s mouth and pulling them across the carpet, as reported by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Cherokee County Superintendent Thomas White stated, “As soon as we learned of the alleged incident at the school, we reached out to law enforcement, informed the parents, and placed the teacher on administrative leave while law enforcement conducts an investigation.”

The school’s website states that Fish was a 4K teacher.

Fish has stepped down from her role at the school, according to White.

A person is currently in custody at the Cherokee County Detention Center, waiting for a bond hearing.
