According to Miami-Dade police, a delivery driver allegedly put a 4-month-old child back in their stroller after hitting the mother’s vehicle and then left the scene.
On Thursday morning, a tragic incident occurred at the intersection of Northeast 7th Avenue and Northeast 191 Street in Miami. A mother, who was crossing the road with her son in a stroller and walking her dog, was unfortunately hit by a delivery driver.
A young mother was knocked down, causing her child to be ejected from the stroller and land on the road.
As reported by NBC affiliate WTVJ, the woman experienced a brain bleed as a result of the collision.
The driver, Sarahy Naybeth Parra-Ovalles, 45, exited the vehicle, restored the stroller to its upright position, and returned the infant to it before departing.
The mother and baby were transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Parra-Ovalles was taken into custody on Friday for allegedly fleeing the scene of an accident resulting in severe bodily harm.
