A tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning in Stockton, resulting in the loss of an 11-year-old girl’s life and injuries to five other children, according to authorities.
Authorities were alerted to an incident involving a vehicle colliding with a tree in the vicinity of N El Dorado Street, close to St. Mary’s High School, at approximately 7:45 a.m.
A group of young individuals, consisting of five girls aged 11 to 15 and a 13-year-old boy, were discovered at the location. An 11-year-old girl tragically passed away after being transported to the hospital, according to authorities.
The teenagers were transported to the hospital and are anticipated to recover without complications.
The police are unsure about the identity of the driver involved in the vehicle collision with a tree, including whether any of the young individuals were behind the wheel.
The family has confirmed the identity of the 11-year-old as Queen Marie Stacy Norwood. A group of individuals assembled at the site of the accident on Sunday evening, holding candles. A touching tribute was held on the bustling street where she tragically lost her life, as pink balloons were released in her memory.
The crash is still being investigated.
