Glade County, FL: Authorities in Florida caught a guy last week after he pretended to be a woman while they looked for a boat thief.
Police said in a statement that they began looking into a stolen boat on April 24. The boat was later found near the Old Caloosa Lodge in Lakeport. At that point, officers said, the suspect was named as 33-year-old Joshua Kolotka.
Deputies spread out to look for Kolotka. They found him in the end, but he was in a strange place.
Deputies were able to catch Kolotka when he tried to hide by leaving a nearby home dressed as a woman, according to the statement.
A John Deere Gator UTV and the boat were both stolen by Kolotka, according to officers. Two warrants out of Okeechobee County also led to his arrest.
There were also a lot of other things found at the scene, the report says. “These things may have been stolen from the same place.”
The sheriff’s office said that Glade County officers are working with the Seminole Police Department to find the stolen items from other thefts in the area.
Koopalotka is being held without release on two charges: one is resisting an officer while wearing a disguise; the other is resisting an officer while wearing a disguise.
