Registered Children Nurse Accused of Child Pornography in Ohio, Paid Sex Offender to Film Videos

According to the office of U.S. Attorney Kenneth Parker, a former worker at a children’s hospital pleaded guilty to several child pornography charges. The guilty plea was entered on Tuesday.

It was agreed that Ryan Ramos, 38, of Columbus, did in fact distribute and receive child pornography and have child pornography on his person.

Ramos worked at Nationwide Children’s Hospital from 2018 to 2020 and helped kids who had been burned. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said he then went to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and worked in the intensive care unit (ICU) with burn patients until 2023.

Court papers show that an FBI probe in 2020 found that Ramos was a member of a Signal app group that shared child pornography.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Ramos sent hundreds of pictures and videos to the chat group showing sexual abuse of children, including abuse of babies and young boys.

More research showed that Ramos paid a sexual offender in New York City more than $500 for child pornography that the offender made.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Ramos’s iPhone had more than 346,000 texts from Signal, Telegram, and other online chat apps where he “sent, sought, received, or talked about child pornography.”

Ramos is being held until he is sentenced. He could spend anywhere from five to twenty years in jail if convicted by the court.
