Police Chase leads to seizure of $50,000 cash and 12.5 Pounds of Marijuana in North Alabama with 3 Arrests

Lawrence County, AL: Three individuals, one from Minnesota and two from Michigan have been arrested in Alabama after authorities confiscated guns, drugs, and cash from their Cadillac during a police pursuit in north Alabama.

Alabama State Troopers attempted to pull over the Cadillac for speeding around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday on Alabama 24 in Franklin County. According to Senior Trooper Cody Farrar, the driver fled and a pursuit followed.

The pursuit concluded in Lawrence County. Moulton police officers and Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies assisted.

An inspection of the car revealed $50,000 in cash, 12.5 pounds of marijuana, 121 doses of Liquid TCH, three handguns, and a rifle.

A 29-year-old driver named John Borelli from Chesterfield, Mich., faces a range of charges including drug trafficking, felony eluding, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, second-degree receiving stolen property, reckless driving, and speeding.

Two passengers, Darius Braden, 28, from Detroit, Mich., and Cor’tae Davidson, 20, from Rochester, Minn., face drug trafficking charges.

All three individuals are currently in custody at the Lawrence County Jail. The amount of drugs and firearms are confiscated by the authorities.
