An elderly resident of the Brookside Village Apartments is currently facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor earlier this year.
A Pawcatuck resident named Donald L. Siller, residing at 108 Brookside Lane, Apt. 6, has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor on Tuesday. According to the police, the charges are related to an incident that took place on March 3. The victim promptly contacted 911 to report the assault.
Based on a police warrant, the victim informed officers that she encountered Siller at a Pawcatuck bus stop and he kindly invited her to his apartment for a glass of water. Upon entering the apartment, she informed the authorities about a disturbing incident of sexual assault.
Despite the victim’s lack of familiarity with the man, the arrest report indicated that Siller asserted knowledge of her father.
Siller denied any inappropriate behavior, according to the police. However, he did confess to removing a comforter from the bed mentioned by the girl. Additional investigation revealed that the police found DNA evidence connecting him to the assault, according to the warrant.
Siller was arraigned on Wednesday in New London Superior Court and was ordered to be held on a $250,000 bond. The case was moved to Part A, which deals with more severe felonies. The next court date is scheduled for August 7th.
