According to a police report from Myrtle Beach, Mica Miller’s husband John-Paul allegedly engaged in manipulative behaviour towards her prior to their marriage in 2017.
Miller filed a complaint on Feb. 21 regarding a stolen vehicle following their release from an involuntary hospital stay.
A tragic incident occurred on 27 April at Lumber River State Park in Robeson County. A woman from Myrtle Beach, aged 30, took her own life just two days after serving divorce papers to John-Paul, the former senior pastor at Solid Rock Church in Market Common.
Miller played a crucial role in the church, overseeing youth worship sessions and the women’s ministry.
Miller’s tragic death followed a series of disturbing allegations of mistreatment within her marriage, which were supported by court documents recently filed by her siblings in an effort to manage her estate.
Sierra Francis and Nathaniel Francis filed affidavits on May 2, detailing a disturbing pattern of abuse and harassment directed at Mica by her husband. These allegations are further supported by Miller’s comments to the police in February.
Miller reported the theft of her car after meeting with police in the Coastal Grand Mall parking lot. During her hospitalisation from Feb. 8 to Feb. 10, she informed officers that she suspected John-Paul of being involved in the theft of the vehicle.
According to John-Paul, his wife tends to spend a significant amount of money when she discontinues her prescribed medication. He also admitted to having the car to prevent it from being sold.
According to John-Paul Miller, he informed the police that the vehicle in question was considered martial property and that he had no intention of returning it to his wife for a month. He mentioned that this timeframe was typically associated with these reckless episodes.
According to Sierra Francis’ affidavit, her sister expressed concerns about being followed and suggested that her husband may have hired individuals to track her. According to the affidavit, it is claimed that John-Paul transferred assets, such as the deed to their home, to one of his sons and relocated his wife’s personal belongings from their residence while she was receiving treatment at a mental-health facility.
Sierra Francis mentioned that her sister had a mix of hope and fear for her future following her decision to file for divorce.
Mica Miller shared regular updates about her life and state of mind on her personal Facebook page for a span of 10 days in March.
“Hey everybody. I just want to let you know that I’m alive and well, and life’s been kind of crazy the past weeks, months, years, but I’ve had to keep my circle really small for the past couple of weeks because I’m going through a lot, and it’s hard, and it’s my cross to bear,” Miller said on March 18.
“I want to reach out to everybody to tell you how much I love you and I miss you, but this is the best way I know how,” she said.
