Parents Left Kid Locked in Car to Gamble in Casino; Arrested after Kid found Locked in Freezing Temperature in Pennsylvania

Honk News –  Bensalem Police report that a couple from New York abandoned their child in a car during freezing temperatures while they went to gamble at Parx.

A couple in New York City is dealing with misdemeanor charges after authorities claim they left their 6-year-old child unattended in a vehicle during freezing temperatures while they were at Parx casino in Bensalem.

Bensalem Police arrived at the Parx on Street Road around 11 a.m. Monday after receiving a report about a child being left in a vehicle.

When an officer showed up, casino security was guiding a couple to their 2021 Honda CRV, which had New York plates, and there was a child left alone inside the vehicle, as stated in a probable cause affidavit. Authorities reported that the vehicle was stationary with the child inside.

The temperature outside was around 22 degrees, as reported by weather.com.

The couple from Brooklyn, Chunyan Wang and To Yeung, both 44, claimed the child was their daughter, according to the affidavit.

Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that the couple spent approximately 45 minutes inside the casino engaging in table games, according to the affidavit.

Wang and Yeung appeared in court on Monday before District Judge Joseph Falcone, facing a charge each of endangering the welfare of children. They have been released after paying $3,000 bail each.

As of Tuesday, the court docket shows that they do not have any legal representation listed.
