Oklahoma City, OK: A tragic incident in Oklahoma is currently under investigation, as authorities are working to understand the motive behind a devastating act of violence. A husband and father took the lives of his wife and their three sons, leaving their youngest child, a 10-year-old boy, before taking his own life.
According to Master Sgt. Gary Knight, the surviving boy made a distress call to 911 on Monday morning. He discovered the tragic scene of his entire family deceased in their home located at the end of a cul-de-sac in west Oklahoma City.
Police quickly responded to the residence and, according to Knight’s statement during a press briefing on Tuesday, discovered no survivors except the caller. During the night, a dispute arose between Jonathon Candy, 42, and his wife, Lindsay Candy, 39, according to investigators. He proceeded to shoot her multiple times, according to reports.
According to Knight, Jonathon Candy tragically took his own life. The sons have been identified as Dylan Candy, 18, Ethan Candy, 14, and Lucas Candy, 11. Tragic discovery of fatalities in different areas of the house. According to Knight, one was discovered in a bed.
Knight stated that the police had not received any previous calls for service or any signs of domestic violence. Investigators plan to interview friends and family members to gather any potential information.
A family member has taken custody of the surviving boy. The reason behind the boy’s fortunate escape remains a mystery.
