Tragedy struck when a young mother and her two children were discovered lifeless in a Columbus apartment on Thursday morning.
A tragic incident unfolded when authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of Journey Fletcher, 25, her son Jalani Jennings, 5, and daughter Harmoni Agyei, 3 months, following a distress call from a residence in the 3300 block of Broadmoor Avenue in Eastmoor, a neighborhood situated on the eastern side of the Ohio city.
The Columbus Police Department is treating their deaths as homicides, according to Sgt. James Fuqua. According to reports, authorities discovered a firearm at the location, although the exact cause of death for the victims remains unknown at this time.
According to local station WCMH, a neighbor contacted the police to request a wellness check. The police arrived at 11:09 a.m. on Thursday and discovered a scene that could only be described as a nightmare.
Sgt. Fuqua stated that the police are not focusing on any specific individuals or suspects.
Sgt. Fuqua expressed that the situation is far from ordinary, as reported by WCMH. It’s highly unusual for any individual. It doesn’t matter who you are, I don’t care. I don’t mind if you’re on fire. It’s unsettling to witness the tragic loss of life, especially when there are multiple victims involved.
