A security guard was arrested for reportedly assaulting two young sisters at a migrant shelter on the Upper West Side on Monday evening, according to law enforcement sources.
Oscar Delgado, 38, is accused of inappropriately touching two siblings, aged 11 and 8, in the hallway of a shelter on West 88th Street near Riverside Drive around 7 p.m., according to police and sources.
Delgado reportedly approached the children while they were playing, inappropriately touching the older girl by squeezing her buttocks, fondling her, and trying to put his hands in her pants, according to authorities.
Authorities reported that the suspect then allegedly approached the younger sister, inappropriately touching her over her clothing.
A concerning incident was reported by the older girl to her mother, who subsequently contacted emergency services, according to sources. The two girls, who were residing at the shelter, were transported to Mount Sinai Morningside for medical care.
Authorities reported that Delgado was taken into custody at the scene and is facing multiple charges, including sexual abuse, forcible touching, and endangering a child.
