A mother from Las Vegas, who gained global attention due to her legal troubles, has been arrested again, facing allegations of drug trafficking for the third time.
Kendra Long, 45, was taken into custody by Nevada State Police following her probation officer’s discovery of baggies containing over 27 grams of meth, along with pills typically identified as Xanax and Valium, as well as paraphernalia such as a scale.
Long was taken into custody on August 15, just eight days following the probation compliance check, as detailed in an arrest report acquired by the 8 News Now Investigators. The probation officer reported that she held her former partner responsible.
“Long made statements alleging that her ex-boyfriend was a member of the cartel and sold methamphetamine and that it must have been from him when she retrieved the items from storage,” the report stated.
When Long was detained in July 2022, she provided police with a similar justification. According to police records, the 8 News Now Investigators initially acquired footage from the investigation that showed her 9-year-old son giving a Henderson police officer a bag containing over 100 grams of meth that had been discovered in Long’s residence. She had long denied owning the medicines.
Officers at the incident were shown on police body camera footage consoling Long’s kid and interrogating her. Long posted the $25,000 bond that was set for her.
According to the prosecution, Long disregarded a court order that forbade her from talking to her son about her criminal case. Court records state that warnings were given by two different judges.
According to police records, Long was found guilty in July 2023 of narcotics crimes and child abuse. Judge Monica Trujillo of the Clark County District Court sentenced Long to probation and imposed a suspended sentence.
After a span of three months, Long faced charges of breaching probation. After an officer reported that she had bags of meth and cocaine in her possession, she was charged with further offenses. Long was taken to a drug treatment facility by Trujillo.
September 18 is the date of the fresh drug charges’ arraignment. Judge Erika Mendoza’s probation revocation hearing is set for September 19.
