Mother Molested Her Toddler Son and Recorded Video of Abuse to Send to a Stranger for Money; Arrested in Florida

A woman from Florida has been arrested after allegedly creating child sexual abuse material featuring her own toddler at the behest of an unknown individual online, according to authorities.

Jenna Ann Hoffmann, 21, faces serious allegations including cruelty toward a child by promoting sexual performance, lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12, possession of sexual performance of a child with intent to promote, use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, and larceny, as reported by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

In response to inquiries regarding the incident, the mother reportedly informed investigators that she consented to create the illegal videos in return for payment that she ultimately did not receive.

On September 23, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office passed along a “tip” regarding child sexual abuse material that they obtained “from a popular social media platform” to the agency responsible for the arrest, as stated in a press release.

“The digital files depicted a female performing sex acts with a toddler,” the sheriff’s office said.

Shortly after, authorities reportedly pinpointed the individual as a local living on Snow Memorial Highway in Brooksville, a quaint town situated about 80 miles directly west of Orlando.

Authorities who responded first established communication with a relative, according to the sheriff’s office. Upon viewing a still image from one of the sexual abuse videos, a family member promptly recognized the child as Hoffman’s 23-month-old toddler.

“The family member then retrieved Hoffman from the residence,” according to the press release. “Hoffman exited the residence and agreed to speak to detectives.”

The sheriff’s office reports that following the reading of her rights, the defendant purportedly confessed to the sexual abuse of her child.

“Hoffman stated she was speaking with a stranger on social media who advised they would pay her to produce and send sexual videos involving her son,” the press release continues. “Hoffman said she made the videos at her residence and sent them but did not receive payment for the videos.”

Authorities executed a search warrant at the home and reportedly uncovered further evidence related to the defendant’s offenses, as stated by the sheriff’s office.

Hoffman has been taken into custody and is currently held without bond at the Hernando County Detention Center.

A judge in Hernando County has already issued an order to ensure that the defendant remains under GPS monitoring in the event of a potential pre-trial release, according to court records.

While court records do not list an attorney for the case, Hoffman has completed an intake form stating that she has hired a private attorney and intends to assert her indigent status.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for October 22.
