Mother Arrested After She Left Daughter Outside in Below Freezing Temperatures in Georgia

Douglasville: Tragedy strikes as a young girl tragically passes away after being in the woods with her mother, who now faces serious charges. It was discovered that this was not her first arrest for cruelty to children.

Uriha Ridge and her two children disappeared near Fox Hall Resort on Capps Ferry Road around midnight on Jan. 16, according to investigators. According to deputies, she remained in the woods for almost 12 hours, under the influence of drugs, before seeking assistance around noon.

Despite her claims of being lost, deputies found that she had a fully charged phone in her possession. The children were completely soaked when the family was discovered. The temperature was expected to drop to 27 degrees that night.

Tragically, the freezing conditions claimed the life of 3-year-old Alina. Tragically, she passed away after being transported to the hospital. Authorities claim Ridge consumed cocaine and marijuana before venturing into the wilderness that evening.

The woman has been taken into custody and is facing charges of felony murder. The status of the other child who was present remains unknown.

Ridge has a history of previous encounters with the law regarding child abuse charges. In 2022, she faced charges of assault and cruelty towards children.

As per the warrant, she was alleged to have assaulted Alina, who was only 2 years old at the time. According to reports, she accidentally dropped the toddler while under the influence.

A judge granted her bond, allowing her to retain custody of her children. The district attorney requested the bond’s revocation, just one day after Alina’s passing.
