More Than Half Million Damage Reported After Apartment Complex Fire in Spokane

Spokane, Washington: Estimated damages from a fire that occurred early on Tuesday morning were close to half a million dollars.

About three in the morning, the Spokane Fire Department received a report of a fire and explosion in a large unit, and that someone was trying to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. The department responded to the garages behind the Trestle Creek Apartments on South Regal St.

When SFD got there, they reported that a strong fire had spread to two buildings that were used as storage for a nearby contractor who had lost tools and work trucks in the incident.

SFD reports that there were no injuries because the storage units were at least thirty feet away from inhabited apartments. The SFD adds that although the fire was limited to just two units, it was deeply ingrained and went unreported for a while. The investigation into the fire’s cause is still ongoing.
