Missouri Woman Arrested after She Kidnapped a Kid Sleeping in a Tent at Midnight: Police Reveal

A woman from Republic, Missouri has been taken into custody by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) for allegedly sexually assaulting and kidnapping a child under the age of 14 at the 13 Riverfront Trail in eastern Dallas County on Sunday, July 21.

Ashely Holt has been charged by the Dallas County Prosecutor with serious offenses, including felony statutory sodomy/attempted statutory sodomy and first-degree kidnapping – facilitating a felony, according to court documents.

Based on the probable cause statement, it was reported that the victim was sleeping in a tent with Holt during the late hours of the night when Holt restrained the victim, preventing any chance of escape and potentially causing harm.

According to the probable cause statement, Holt proceeded to commit a sexual assault against the individual, with the incident lasting approximately five minutes.

The victim’s mother was peacefully sleeping in a tent nearby when the incident occurred. Earlier that day, the mother and Ashely had a heated confrontation due to Ashely’s inappropriate behavior towards the mother’s boyfriend.

According to the DCSO, detectives swiftly initiated an investigation and apprehended Holt after receiving information about the incident.

Holt is currently in custody at the Dallas County Jail, with a bond set at $150,000. The court has scheduled additional proceedings for August 6, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., according to the records.
