A woman from Blaine has admitted to charges of sexually assaulting two 15-year-old hockey players from Colorado at a hotel in Roseville.
On Friday, Allison Schardin, 39, pleaded guilty to a charge of 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct, while the charge of 4th-degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
As detailed in the criminal complaint, Schardin encountered the victims in a hotel room in Roseville on January 14. Two boys from a hockey team visiting from Colorado encountered Schardin in the hotel’s hot tub, where she shared details about her marital issues.
According to the allegations, she sent a message to one of the boys on Snapchat that night, inviting him to her room. Upon entering, Schardin posed sexual inquiries to two of the boys and inquired about their ages, commenting that they were “young enough to be her kids,” as stated in the complaint.
Schardin reportedly engaged in sexual contact with the two boys, with one victim claiming she had been “insistent” on the encounter.
She reached out to one of the victims the following day to inquire about their hockey game before arriving at the rink shortly after. The boys felt a wave of anxiety as she tried to pursue them, with one of the affected stating: ” “It was really creepy.”
After the team got back to Colorado, Schardin kept messaging the two victims, urging one of them not to reach out to law enforcement.
Authorities received word of the situation on January 22, leading to Schardin’s arrest on February 1, during which she explained to officers that she had visited the hotel for a family “stay-cation.”
She is scheduled to appear in court again on January 10 at 9 a.m.
