Middletown Man and Ex-House Parent at Milton Hershey School Faces Charges for Child Abuse

Allegations of sexual abuse have been made against a former House Parent for Milton Hershey School, as stated in charging documents.

A 38-year-old man from Middletown, Efrain Massanet-Murray, has been accused of assaulting a child over the past summer. The charges filed by Derry Township Police state that he allegedly engaged in sexual touching, made inappropriate comments, and provided the child with alcohol.

Massanet-Murray was terminated from their position as a House Parent after the school became aware of an ongoing investigation into allegations made by a non-Milton Hershey School student, as reported by the school.

Police received a report in May about a disturbing incident involving alleged child abuse. According to a criminal complaint, Massanet-Murray is accused of inappropriately touching the child while they were watching a movie.

The victim also shared their experiences of being provided with alcohol and revealed numerous instances where Massanet-Murray engaged in inappropriate touching, offered money in exchange for sexual favors, or engaged in discussions about inappropriate subjects.

Massanet-Murray is facing a range of serious charges, including felony counts of aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and corruption of minors. In addition, he is confronted with several misdemeanor charges that are connected to the case.

Massanet-Murray has been released on unsecured bail of $10,000 and is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 10.
