A Green Bay man faces a $100,000 cash bond following charges of stalking a 17-year-old girl and placing sexual notes on her vehicle.
A criminal complaint acquired by Local 5 reveals that 52-year-old Dennis Johnson is facing several charges connected to the alleged stalking of a 17-year-old girl. On October 26, a Green Bay Police Department officer responded to a home regarding a reported sexual incident.
A 17-year-old girl found a letter from a stranger left on her car, according to the complaint. The letter was said to contain explicit content and came with an adult-themed book. The letter referred to the victim as ‘Cheesehead’.
On November 10, an officer responded to the same residence for yet another report of stalking. A plastic bag was discovered resting on the hood of the victim’s vehicle.
After the initial incident, security cameras were installed, and the footage was reviewed by authorities. A man in his middle years was observed putting a bag on the vehicle at approximately 2:20 a.m.
The bag held an additional book considered to be sexual, along with a handwritten note of a similar theme. The message also allegedly requested a loan ranging from $6,000 to $10,000.
Authorities searched Wisconsin’s Sex Offender Registry and identified Dennis Johnson as a match for the individual seen in the footage. The allegation states that in 1994, Johnson engaged in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old while he was 22 years old.
A police officer reached out to Johnson and searched his home. A metal pipe is thought to be associated with drug use.
Johnson allegedly informed authorities that he observed the victim mowing the lawn approximately two or three years prior. The allegation states that he had a sexual attraction towards her, believing she was 18 years old.
He acknowledged placing the notes and books for the victim to create her own book. The complaint states that Johnson mentioned he requested money as he was nearing the end of his funds and faced the possibility of being evicted from his home.
Johnson appeared in court on November 15 for his initial hearing, according to court records. His cash bond was established at $100,000. He is scheduled to return to court on December 27 for a status update.
