Michigan Man Gave 17-year-old Booze; Molested Him and Recorded Abuse after Teen Boy Passed Out: Deputies

A man from Michigan has been arrested by the authorities after a 17-year-old boy reported molestation.

The man is identified as James “Jimmy” Richard Beauchamp from Kentwood. He entered a not-guilty plea in response to several allegations about the sexual abuse of the alleged teenage boy.

On Monday, Beauchamp entered a plea of not guilty to the following allegations:

  • Second-degree criminal sexual conduct
  • Child sexual abusive activity
  • Using a computer to commit a crime
  • Furnishing alcohol to a minor

The case began in August 2023, when Beauchamp allegedly spent the night on August 11 and 12, 2023, at the Grand Haven Rodeway Inn with a 17-year-old boy. Beauchamp and the teenager are said to have consumed wine during their stay, causing the teen to pass out.

Additionally, according to court filings, the victim said that when he woke up in the middle of the night, Beauchamp was abusing him sexually and had been filming or taking pictures with his phone.

That’s when the teenager departed the hotel.

When Beauchamp was questioned by his employer at the time, he admitted that he had drunk alcohol and remained at the hotel with the teenager. The documents state that he denied any sexual interaction ever occurring.

On December 1, 2023, Beauchamp was brought into jail at his place of employment, Wedgwood Christian Services.

A minimum of 36 months in jail is included in Beauchamp’s sentencing deal. The whole sentence will be revealed to him on August 26 at 10 a.m.

Investigators think there might be more victims.
