Man Sexually Abused 11-year-old Girl in Tennessee; Victim is a Family Member of Perpetrator’s Girlfriend: Police

According to the Knox County Office of the District Attorney General Charme Allen, a guy who is 38 years old is facing several convictions for sexually assaulting a minor and fled on the day before his trial was scheduled to begin.

In 2016, David Perkins began a romantic relationship with a member of the victim’s family who was 11 years old. According to the district attorney, Perkins started off by sexually assaulting the youngster at that time.

A number of years passed during which the abuse persisted not only in Knoxville but also in Florida and North Carolina.

An investigation was opened by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office after the victim, who was 16 years old at the time, reported the abuse that she had experienced.

The trial of Perkins was scheduled to take place on December 11th, 2023 as reported by WBIR News.

He allegedly did not show up in court and instead went to a campsite that he had constructed in the Cherokee National Forest, as stated by the District Attorney. He was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service three days after the initial incident.

Based on the information provided by the District Attorney, Perkins is facing four counts of aggravated sexual battery in addition to one count of failure to appear.

The Tennessee Department of Correction has handed down a sentence that requires him to serve a total of sixteen years in prison without the chance of release.
