A man from Ada County has been sentenced to up to ten years in prison for being convicted of possessing child pornography.
A 52-year-old man named Douglas Keith Stuhlberg was recently convicted on two felony charges related to the possession of sexually exploitative material involving children. He was sentenced on June 28. The Office of the Attorney General has stated that he will be serving a prison sentence ranging from a minimum of two years to a maximum of ten years.
“These crimes against children will not go unanswered,” stated Attorney General Labrador in a news release. I’m extremely proud of the diligent efforts put forth by our ICAC Unit and prosecutors to ensure the safety of our Idaho communities. The sentence handed down in this case shows their dedication to protecting children from predators and abusers.
In October of 2023, a search warrant was issued against Stuhlberg after the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received pings from Synchronoss Technologies, according to the office. The company claims that Stuhlberg has uploaded inappropriate content to its network.
Authorities discovered numerous files of child pornography during a search of Stuhlberg’s residence and electronic devices, according to the Attorney General’s office.
“According to the office, the files contained images of young girls between the ages of seven and thirteen, in various stages of undress, posing inappropriately,” the statement read as reported by KTVB News.
Once Stuhlberg completes his sentencing, he will be required to register as a sex offender, according to the office.
