A preliminary report from the Fayetteville Police Department indicated that, at approximately 2 p.m. on October 27, an officer responded to a call from a woman who reported being followed at a department store in Northwest Arkansas Mall.

A woman reported to FPD that upon entering the bathroom, she noticed an individual in the adjacent stall dressed in men’s attire and footwear.

A cellphone camera was subsequently aimed at her from beneath the stall.

As the woman exited the restroom, another woman accompanied by her child was just stepping inside. The woman allegedly recounted the events that took place. A woman entered the bathroom with her child and inquired if a man was present inside.

According to the report, McCoy reportedly attempted to exit the stall and leave the restroom when he was confronted by two men who restrained him against the wall.

Footage captured within the store revealed McCoy entering the restroom after the woman who reported him. Footage captured by one of the individuals who intervened with McCoy reveals the suspect exiting the restroom as he attempted to make his exit.

According to the report, McCoy declined to respond to any inquiries made by the officer.
