Man Arrested for Touching people Inappropriately at Dartmouth Festival

An individual from Fall River was arrested over the weekend for reportedly touching someone inappropriately at the Dartmouth Carnival.

Authorities in Dartmouth say that Jeffrey Lehman, 54, is charged with sexual assault, battery on a person 14 or older, and accosting or bothering someone.

After briefly following the victim and her friend on Saturday night, Lehman is said to have approached the victim and started touching her improperly. Authorities say he also said rude things and put money down the victim’s shirt.

Other customers found out what was going on and reportedly put themselves between Lehman and the victim. The event was reported to police working at the carnival just after 10 p.m., and Lehman was arrested.

The identity of the victim has not been revealed by the authorities. It is also unknown whether Lehman is still in custody or has been released on a bond.
