Man Arrested after School Resource Officer Reported Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Suspect

A man from Fayette County is currently facing serious charges as authorities investigate allegations of sexual misconduct that date back over ten years.

A man named David P. Humphrey, aged 69, from Hilltop, has been charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse. The charges include sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or person of trust, as well as first-degree sexual abuse.

This information was provided by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office in a news release.

A student at Oak Hill High School has come forward with allegations of sexual abuse, according to a news release. The information was reported to deputies by a resource officer at the school.

According to deputies, a thorough investigation resulted in “revelations from several siblings within the same family.”

“This is why it is important to have prevention resource officers with the school system. Our officer had built a rapport with the students which allowed them to trust him with this information.” Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley stated in the news release. “I am glad the student will see that their complaint was taken seriously and action was taken against the individual.”
