A video captured in 2021 has resulted in aggravated child abuse charges for an individual from Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee.
An affidavit we obtained from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office describes a video in which 23-year-old Ricky Storm Casey is seen forcefully handling an infant on what appears to be bedding.
The video was captured on Snapchat and quickly spread across local social media platforms within the past day. Several viewers brought it to our attention, and law enforcement also took notice.
Casey was apprehended by deputies at his workplace on Monday. According to the arrest report, he admitted to having anger issues during the video incident and claimed that it was a one-time occurrence.
According to the report, a family member informed authorities that the child in question was frequently targeted.
Authorities were alerted to the video last month. They promptly initiated an investigation, as stated in a joint release by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and the office of Hamilton County District Attorney Coty Wamp.
According to the release, HCSO is collaborating with partner agencies, such as the Children’s Advocacy Center and the Department of Children’s Services, to prioritize the child’s well-being.
According to online records, Casey has had multiple arrests in recent years. However, all of the charges were related to his driving, such as driving on a suspended license and improper registration.
