Kentucky Woman Arrested as She Kept Her Child Locked in Dog Cage: Authorities

A woman has been arrested by authorities in Kentucky. The woman reportedly kept her child locked in a dog cage for days.

On June 3, a complaint warrant was issued, claiming that the lady in Kentucky had abused her child multiple times, including by making her stay in a dog cage. As a result, the woman was placed under arrest.

Sheila T. Mann, 31, was detained and accused of multiple counts of child abuse, according to the warrant that was submitted to the Madison County District Court.

According to the warrant, when authorities spoke with her 10-year-old child, she reported that Mann had abused her and her siblings by strangling them, tying their hands together, and making them spend two or three days in a dog cage.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office charged the woman with the following charges:

  • First-degree strangulation
  • First-degree criminal abuse – child 12 or under
  • First-degree unlawful imprisonment
  • First-degree wanton endangerment
  • Third-degree terroristic threatening

According to the warrant, the alleged offenses happened at a residence between January 1, 2024, and March 7, 2024.
