Kansas Day Care Provider Accused of Beating and Burning Foster Child; Other Kids also Had Burns, Bruises, and Missing Teeth

The foster child was allegedly beaten severely enough to cause bruises. The child was also burned in a hot bath by a home daycare provider from Kansas.

The youngster had second-degree burns last week, and 29-year-old Ija Monae Hall is now facing charges of child abuse, according to authorities. According to the Wichita Eagle, she was taken into custody on Monday at the Child Advocacy Center.

On September 5, the event occurred at His Loving Hands Home Childcare, Hall’s home daycare, according to officials.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued an emergency order of suspension detailing the case.

Following the incident, the youngster was transported to a burn center at the hospital, where he sustained second-degree burns to his lower limbs as well as superficial burns to his buttocks, thighs, genitalia, and feet, according to the statement.

Hall is accused of giving “inconsistent statements as to the cause of the injuries” to hospital personnel and law police while at the facility.

The two children of Hall were removed to a children’s home the day after they were placed into the protective custody of the police.

The personnel there saw that the kids needed to get in the tub. Bruising was noted on the chest and legs of one child, and the report also mentioned that he had missing teeth. According to the document, the second child sustained minor injuries, including a scrape on the face, red markings on the back, neck, shoulder, and knee, and a small bruise on the heel.

According to the document, during a further interview with the police a few days later, Hall confessed to hitting one of them on the back, which caused bruises, and to forcing him to sit in a hot bathtub, which caused burns.

The emergency order to suspend Hall’s license to operate a family child care home was requested and issued in June by the Kansas Department of Children and Families (DCF). The document stated that the license suspension was granted immediately because the case was of a severe nature.
