International Sting Operation Nets Arrest of Gang Leader in El Paso

El Paso, TX: A woman sought by both federal American and Mexican authorities was apprehended on Thursday.

Michelle Angelica Pineda, also known as “La Chely,” was apprehended at a motel near El Paso. She was apprehended by FBI El Paso’s Safe Streets Gang Task Force and the U.S. Border Patrol.

Pineda, a Mexican citizen, was sought by the Mexican Government for her participation in five murders and was also implicated in numerous more deaths in Ciudad Juarez.

Agents discovered on Thursday, after an ongoing investigation, that Pineda had unlawfully entered the U.S. and was running a narcotics trafficking operation for the “Artistas Assessino” gang based in Mexico.

Pineda was notorious for her severe savagery, which included dismembering people, extracting hearts, and depositing the hearts in front of altars and statues dedicated to “Santa Muerte.”

Agents discovered multiple guns, machetes, fentanyl tablets, powdered fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, Xanax, and methamphetamine in the hotel room where she was located.
