A man from Anderson is facing multiple felony charges following allegations made by two teenage girls. One of the victims has also claimed that he transmitted an STD to her.
A man named Douglas N. White, Jr., 56, was apprehended by Anderson police on Tuesday following accusations made by two young girls. They claimed that he had engaged in unwanted physical contact and sexual activity with them. He is now being charged with felony sexual misconduct involving a minor (two counts) and sexual battery (one count).
Investigators initiated an inquiry into White in July following a report from a young girl who disclosed that he had committed a molestation offense against her when she was 14 years old, two years ago. According to court documents, another victim, who was 16 at the time, came forward with allegations against White after this report.
According to the victims, they shared multiple incidents with the police, detailing how White inappropriately touched their chests and attempted to put his hands under their pants. There was an incident where White reportedly engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with a 14-year-old victim.
The victims described their interactions with White as highly distressing, causing them significant physical discomfort and even prompting them to cry out in pain.
Following the reported molestation incidents, it appears that White started purchasing gifts for the girls, including perfume.
The victim, who initially approached the police in July, informed detectives during a subsequent interview that she had fallen ill following an encounter with White. Following her hospitalization, it was discovered that the girl had tested positive for an STD.
According to the police, she mentioned that she believed it came from White, as it happened after the incident involving him. She claimed that the STD could not have been contracted from anyone else, as she had not engaged in sexual activity with anyone else.
Following a thorough investigation of White’s residence and interviews with individuals connected to the victims, White was formally charged on Monday in Madison County with sexual battery and misconduct with a minor. On Tuesday morning, he was arrested and taken to the local jail. A date for the first hearing in his court case has not been set yet.
According to online court records, White has a long list of criminal offenses, including meth possession, auto theft, neglect of a dependent, driving while suspended, and more.
White has faced multiple charges in Madison County since 2015, including felony counterfeiting, resisting law enforcement, leaving the scene of an accident, and child neglect.
According to court records, White has faced two charges of meth possession since late 2023.
Last November, an Anderson man was charged in Wayne County for possession of meth and syringes. It seems that he still has an active arrest warrant for these charges. On July 15, White faced charges in Madison County for meth possession and driving while suspended. The charges are still pending.
