In the Trump Ballot dispute, Republicans in Colorado have filed a Misconduct complaint against Griswold.

Denver, Colorado: Two Republicans have accused Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold of violating the rules of professional behavior for lawyers in a legal complaint they filed against her.

Colorado licensed attorney Griswold was accused of “numerous instances of misconduct” in a four-page document submitted on Thursday by Thomas Bjorklund and Darcy Schoening of the Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. All of the accusations revolve around what Griswold said and did as secretary of state in the months preceding the overturn of former president Donald Trump’s removal from Colorado’s 2024 presidential primary ballot by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Republicans in the House have been pushing for Griswold’s impeachment hearing since earlier this month over her remarks and actions related to the case. Members of the Republican Party in the state and U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, who narrowly won reelection in 2022 and will be moving from the 3rd to the 4th congressional district, wrote a letter to Griswold demanding a recall in response to the Supreme Court’s decision.

According to the Republicans, Griswold broke multiple rules of the Colorado Rule of Professional Conduct.

When Griswold said that Justice Clarence Thomas lacked integrity due to his wife receiving unreported gifts, the two accuse her of making a false or irresponsible statement during her appearance on MSNBC. Griswold is accused of being untrustworthy, false, or misleading when she called Trump a “oath-breaking insurrectionist.” They go on to say that painting Trump in a negative light hinders the fair administration of justice.

An entire class of Colorado voters has had their rights “calculated and maliciously attacked” by Secretary Griswold since she took office, the lawsuit claims. To disenfranchise Trump supporters, Griswold has used her platform to spread false information about the president.

The Republican Party announced the complaint via email, claiming that hundreds of people have called them from all across the country “since Griswold attempted to remove Trump from the ballot…”

The press release conveyed the sentiments of Coloradans, who want Jena Griswold to be held accountable for her choices. “In order to question and investigate her unethical behavior, we have filed this official complaint because we have had enough of Griswold’s deceitful tactics.”

Following the March 4th, unanimous ruling of the United States Supreme Court to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court, Griswold informed ABC News that, as an elected official, she was acting in accordance with the law and the Constitution by refraining from taking any measures to remove Trump’s name from the ballot.

Griswold informed ABC News that he was the target of a lawsuit that sought to prevent him from endorsing Trump in the vote. After that, it made its way to the Colorado Supreme Court, which ruled that Trump cannot run for office due to his involvement in the coup and that no president, current or past, is immune from the rule of law and the Constitution. He is covered by the third section of the fourteenth amendment.
