High School Teacher Arrested for Sexual Relationship With Student, Suspected Perpetrator in 2nd Incident: California Authorities

A 31-year-old teacher from Escondido High School has been arrested by the Escondido Police Department for allegedly engaging in a sexually intimate relationship with a minor student.

Last month, the EPD responded to a report of sexual misconduct. Ky Iri Tisdale of Escondido was arrested on Friday following an investigation conducted by detectives from the Escondido Police Family Protection Unit, according to a statement from the EPD.

Tisdale was apprehended by authorities while he and fellow educators were preparing their classrooms at the school, as reported by Lt. Ryan Hicks of the EPD. Hicks mentioned that the department had intentions of apprehending him prior to Tuesday, which marks the commencement of classes in the Escondido Union High School District.

Furthermore, on Friday, detectives carried out a search warrant at Tisdale’s residence in Escondido in order to gather further evidence. Authorities have confiscated Tisdale’s phone and computer, according to police.

According to a statement from the EPD, detectives suspect that there may be another victim involved in this case. The district announced on Monday that both individuals involved in the alleged incidents have since graduated.

According to authorities, the individual at the center of the ongoing investigation involving Tisdale is a female. According to Hicks, charges have not yet been filed for the other case involving a boy, which is still under investigation.
