Madison Heights, MI- Two individuals are being charged following the tragic death of a 6-year-old boy in Madison Heights.
According to a statement from the Madison Heights Police Department, authorities were called to a mobile home park in the 25000 block of Dequindre on Tuesday afternoon after receiving a report of a child in distress. Upon the arrival of officers, the young boy was discovered in an unresponsive state, bearing numerous physical injuries.
A tragic incident occurred where a child was taken to Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital and later transferred to Children’s Hospital, where unfortunately, the child succumbed to their injuries.
Charges have been authorized by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office against Daniel Giacchina and Elaina Jennings, who were both taken into custody after the incident.
Jennings faces charges of providing false information to a peace officer, which could result in a misdemeanor sentence of up to two years.
The Madison Heights Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the unfortunate death of a 6-year-old. They will be sharing their findings with the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
