Pasadena, CA: Haley Pullos is slapped with 90 days of jail sentence after a wrong-way crash in Pasadena, California. The “General Hospital” actress was driving under the influence and was booked for the same offense after the crash.
According to her attorney Mark Daniel Melnick, Pullos surrendered to 90 days in Pasadena City Jail on Monday, exactly one year after her arrest on April 29, 2023.
The 25-year-old actress has pleaded no contest to charges stemming from a hit-and-run incident and wrong-way crash on a Los Angeles freeway in 2023. The incident caused bodily injury and property damage. Melnick’s sentencing is scheduled for July 29.
Pullos has been sentenced to 90 days in jail, along with five years of probation, 200 hours of community service, and a restitution payment of $8,260 to Courteney Wilder, the other driver involved in the crash, as stated by Melnick.
“Haley expresses deep gratitude to the court for the lenient sentence and for acknowledging her remorse and the progress she has made in her sobriety,” he stated.
In April 2023, following the crash, law enforcement discovered the General Hospital actress trapped inside her car, unable to escape. Emergency responders utilized specialized equipment to safely remove her from the vehicle, after which she was transported to a nearby medical facility for necessary care. Wilder, the other driver involved, was also admitted to the hospital with severe injuries.
In June of that year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Pullos was facing charges related to a DUI incident. The charges include causing injury while driving under the influence, driving with a .08 BAC causing injury, and hit-and-run resulting in property damage.
In January, Wilder initiated legal action to claim compensation for the incident. Pullos’ legal team has issued a response to the lawsuit, refuting all of the allegations made by Wilder in her suit, according to court documents.
The soap opera star firmly rejected any responsibility for Wilder’s allegations of loss or damage caused by Pullos.
In her counterclaim, Pullos contended that the damages mentioned in the complaint were a direct result of the negligent and/or intentional actions of the Plaintiffs.
Pullos argued that any potential financial damages should be reduced based on the extent to which the plaintiffs’ negligent or intentional actions contributed to the alleged damages. According to her statement, the damages suffered by Wilder were attributed to factors beyond Pullos’ control, whether intentional or negligent, caused by external parties.
Pullos has requested the dismissal of the case and is seeking reimbursement for her legal fees from Wilder.
Pullos checked into a rehabilitation treatment facility after the crash, stating in an interview with Soap Opera Digest in May 2023 that she would be taking a break from her role as Molly Lansing-Davis on General Hospital. She explained that the accident had taken a toll on her and she needed some time to recuperate.
According to the L.A. County District Attorney, the issue of drunk driving continues to be a serious problem in our communities, resulting in the tragic loss of numerous innocent lives annually.
The D.A. emphasized the seriousness of the alleged offense by charging Haley Pullos with a felony DUI causing injury.
