Georgia Teacher in Custody on Child Molestation Charges; School Issues Statement after Arrest

Honk News (Houston County, GA) – A former teacher from Houston County has been taken into custody on charges of child molestation, as reported by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua Gabriel Wilson was apprehended on February 13, following the issuance of an arrest warrant for child molestation, related to an incident that occurred in August 2023, according to jail records. Wilson was taken into custody at the Houston County Board of Education in Perry.

The Houston County School District has reported that Wilson previously served as a music teacher at Miller Elementary School in Warner Robins.

Wilson made his initial court appearance on February 14 at 4:51 p.m. in Superior Court. According to court documents, his request for bond has been denied.

On Wednesday, the Houston County School District issued the following statement:

“This person is no longer an employee of the Houston County School District and has not been on the campus of his former school since last semester. While we cannot discuss personnel matters and are limited in the information we can share, we are fully committed to the safety and well-being of our students. To that end, we have fully cooperated with local law enforcement as they continue to conduct their investigation of this former employee.”
