Georgia Rapper Lands in Jail for 20 Years after Loaded Gun Busted at Los Angeles Airport

Los Angeles, CA- A rapper from the Atlanta area has been given a 20-month federal prison sentence for attempting to bring a loaded weapon in his carry-on bag while trying to board a flight at Los Angeles International Airport.

A 36-year-old man from Douglasville, Georgia, named Tiwan “Fat Money” Raybon, pleaded guilty in April to a charge of being in possession of a firearm and ammunition as a prohibited person, as reported by the FBI. On Friday, he received a sentence of one year and eight months in downtown Los Angeles.

In June 2022, Raybon was indicted for attempting to board an Atlanta-bound flight with a Glock 9mm semiautomatic pistol and multiple rounds of ammunition in a carry-on bag, as reported by the FBI. During a routine luggage inspection, Transportation Security Administration personnel came across the items and Raybon attempted to escape.

FBI officials have stated that Raybon was prohibited from owning a weapon because of previous felony convictions and a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction in Illinois.
