Just two days after celebrating his 26th birthday, Florida rapper Julio Foolio was shot and died in Tampa on Sunday, according to his attorney. The incident occurred just two days after Happy Birthday.
In a statement, attorney Lewis Fuso said that the rapper, whose actual name is Charles Jones, was “reportedly ambushed” while he was sleeping at a Holiday Inn hotel in Tampa. This occurred after the rapper had been “kicked” out of an Airbnb where he was partying.
The incident had resulted in the death of one man, according to the Tampa Police Department, while three other individuals were injured and brought to the hospital.
It was reported that they were in stable condition.
Before he passed away, Jones had posted a story on Instagram that showed him enjoying his 26th birthday with a pool party at an Airbnb, where he was surrounded by friends and followers.
It was said that the party, which had been advertised all over social media, became too rowdy, which resulted in the police shutting down the gathering and ordering Jones to leave, as stated by Fusco.
Jones and the three other victims were reportedly sitting in their vehicles in the parking lot when individuals who have not been recognized opened fire, according to the police.
No suspects have been apprehended as of Sunday afternoon, according to the authorities who are still checking CCTV footage from the hotel.
Jones was a well-known member of the KTA gang in Jacksonville, which has been engaged in a conflict with competing gangs for a considerable amount of time as reported by The Post.
According to the authorities, a gang-related shooting that took place in 2018 during a birthday party for Jones’ brother resulted in the injuries and deaths of Jones’ cousin as well as three other minors.
The rapper had a previous attempt on his life in 2021, when he was grazed by a bullet while he was at his recording studio in Jacksonville. The musician later taunted his shooters on Instagram. The attempt on his life occurred in 2021.
