A man from Collier County will spend the rest of his life behind bars after his conviction for child molestation.
It was revealed on Monday by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office that Matthew Zink, who is 49 years old, was given a sentence.
On June 9, 2021, he was initially taken into custody after the victim reported that she had been the victim of sexual abuse.
After the victim disclosed to a member of their family that Zink had sexually assaulted them, the investigation was initiated.
This family member then informed a deputy in charge of Youth Relations at the elementary school where the victim attended.

According to the investigators, Zink had the victim “pinky promise” that they would not tell anybody about the sexual assaults that he had committed against them, and he even purchased gifts for the child after the crimes.
An individual named Zink was found guilty of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim who was under the age of 12 by a jury in Collier County on June 21 of this year.
“This was a fantastic and collaborative effort between our Special Response Bureau, our Forensic Services Bureau, and the State Attorney’s Office to ensure that a predator can never harm another child again,” said Sheriff Kevin Rambosk. All three of these departments worked together to accomplish this goal.
