A man was arrested by the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) last Friday on charges of molesting a child three years ago in Fort Wayne.
According to a statement from the FWPD, a child bravely disclosed to their mother on February 23rd that they had experienced child sexual abuse (CSA) and provided the name of the alleged perpetrator.
The Crimes Against Persons Section (CAPS) collaborated with the police to piece together a timeline of events that ultimately led to the man’s arrest.
A 34-year-old man named Christopher Phillips was apprehended by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department last Friday, with the help of the Indiana Department of Child Services of Allen County. Phillips was identified as the suspect by the victim.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, a doctor specializing in forensics conducted an interview with the child on March 5th. During the interview, the child provided officials with a detailed account of the abuse they had experienced.

The victim reported to the doctor that Phillips had engaged in inappropriate touching on three different occasions spanning from November 2020 to February 2021, all within the same household.
Phillips is currently in custody at the Correctional Facility in New Castle, Indiana. The arrest was made by the FWPD, and Phillips is facing two charges. The bond has been set at $25,000.
