Doctor Lured Women on Dating Sites; Drugged and Molested Them after Meeting; Slapped with Life Sentence

A Denver doctor was sentenced to 158 years in prison for drugging and raping six Colorado women he met through dating apps.

The sentencing judge chastised 36-year-old “narcissistic monster” and former doctor Stephen Matthews on Friday for enticing ten women to his West Denver townhouse, mixing their drinks, and raping eight of them between 2019 and 2023, according to CBS News.

“Evidence in this case is overwhelming,” Judge Eric Johnson said, addressing the convicted creep directly. “You have diminished this world.”

Matthews’ victims and relatives applauded the longer-than-life sentence, as over two dozen people, including survivors of his terrible crimes, read tearful victim-impact comments.

“We are now a powerful army of survivors — and you are nothing,” one of his victims said, adding that the former physician was a “narcissistic monster” and a “serial rapist.”

In August, a jury convicted Matthews of raping the women, whom he met on dating apps like Hinge and Tinder, CBS reported.

Many of Matthews’ victims claimed they could only recall fragments of what happened after drinking with the evil doctor, while others claimed they awoke naked in bed with him.

The ladies told the court that the accused would then “gaslight” them into believing that whatever happened was their fault, such as stating they drank too much or couldn’t handle their liquor, according to the station.

They also discussed how his misdeeds had left them with anxiety, despair, paranoia, and other concerns.
