Daycare Employee Rot in Jail for 10 months after Alleged Abuse at Daycare Facility in North Carolina

In a recent development, a former employee of a daycare in Sneads Ferry has admitted to the disturbing act of abusing an 11-month-old child back in the summer of 2019.

McKayla Sausser was initially taken into custody and faced charges of felony child abuse causing serious injury after an investigation carried out by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 10, 2024, Sausser was convicted of child abuse and received a 10-month prison sentence, followed by 3 years of supervised probation.

A male child in the care of Childcare Network Daycare was taken to the hospital for head trauma, prompting a response from the sheriff’s office. Hospital officials confirm that the injuries were deliberately inflicted as per WCTI News.

Video footage obtained during the investigation process revealed that Sausser, an assistant teacher at the daycare, had repeatedly and forcefully pushed the infant’s head down in a crib, leading to the assault.
