The rider who perished in a horrific motorcycle accident on Saturday, December 30, has been named by the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). The accident happened at Woodmen Road, resulting in the temporary shutdown of I-25 for multiple hours.
The sports bike driver has been identified as 20-year-old Micah Reese. According to police, he died on the crash site.
Reese was overtaking other cars on I-25 as he traveled southbound at a fast speed, according to the CSPD’s investigation into the incident. It turned out that Reese crashed close to Woodmen Road after losing control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle proceeded into the northbound lanes of I-25 before coming to a stop in the center lane, throwing Reese into the center median.
Reese was traveling south on I-25 at a high rate of speed when he passed other cars, according to the CSPD crash investigation. Reese lost control and crashed close to Woodmen Road, according to the CSPD. Reese’s motorcycle appeared to have been flung into the middle median, and it continued into the I-25 northbound lanes until it eventually stopped in the middle lane.
