California Twins Overdosed on Drugs; One Dead after Fatal Exposure; Mother Arrested in Los Angeles

A tragic incident occurred in Canoga Park where a mother of twin 3-year-old boys has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder. The two toddlers were exposed to an unidentified substance, resulting in the death of one child and the hospitalization of the other in critical condition. Authorities are investigating this heartbreaking incident.

In a recent news release, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the 20000 block of Sherman Way following a radio call regarding a child death investigation, which occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

According to a news release, the boys’ mother found them unresponsive.

Firefighter-paramedics quickly arrived at the scene and rushed both children to a nearby hospital. Tragically, one of them was later pronounced deceased, as confirmed by the LAPD. The boy who passed away has been identified as Josiah James by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

According to a preliminary investigation, the police statement revealed that the children had come into contact with an unidentified substance, either by ingestion or exposure.

Jestice James, the mother, has been arrested and booked on suspicion of murder. She was granted bail in the amount of $2 million. The LAPD has stated that no further investigation will be conducted on the other residents of the home.

The boys resided in the Palm Vista Apartments, a housing complex managed by the city of Los Angeles, which offers affordable housing options, including units for individuals facing homelessness.

According to residents of the building, the mother has a reputation for drug use as reported by ABC7 News.

According to Christopher Burko, a resident of the apartment building, he tried performing CPR on the 3-year-olds.
