California Man Molested and Abuse Young Girls since They were 7 and 10; Lands in Jail after Victims Reported Horrific Abuse

Oxnard, CA- A man from Oxnard has pleaded guilty to seven felony counts of child sexual abuse, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. He now faces the possibility of life in prison.

A 39-year-old man named Omar Cruz-Hernandez has pleaded guilty to several serious charges, including forcible rape, engaging in sexual intercourse with a child under ten, committing lewd and lascivious acts upon a child, and continuous sexual abuse of a child as per the news release by the DA’s Office.

Jurors have reached a verdict, confirming the allegations of sexual assault against Cruz-Hernandez involving multiple victims.

Authorities became aware of Cruz-Hernandez after receiving a report of child sexual abuse on June 23, 2023.

“One victim reported that she had been the victim of child sexual abuse at the hands of the defendant since she was ten years old,” the D.A.’s Office stated. “Another victim later disclosed that she had been a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of the defendant since she was seven years old.”

Investigators found that Cruz-Hernandez exploited his family ties to gain entry to the victims.

“While this conviction cannot undo the damage the defendant inflicted upon these innocent victims, it will go a long way in their healing process, knowing that their abuser has been held accountable for the crimes he committed against them,” Deputy District Attorney Michael Kern said.

Cruz-Hernandez is currently being held in custody without the possibility of bail.

The sentencing date has been set for Aug. 28. Cruz-Hernandez is potentially facing a sentence of 150 years and 8 months to life in prison.
