Honk News – A doctor in Beverly Hills faces charges for allegedly drugging and raping an employee, with investigators suspecting there may be additional victims.
Babak Hajhosseini, who established the Wound and Burn Centers of America, was taken into custody on November 26 and faces charges of sexually assaulting an unconscious individual, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Hajhosseini, 42, was released on bail on November 29. However, on December 23, a grand jury indicted him on multiple charges, including two counts of rape involving drugs, one count of raping an unconscious or asleep individual, one count of oral copulation facilitated by anesthesia or controlled substances, and four counts of oral copulation of an unconscious or asleep person.
The LAPD claims that Hajhosseini, a visiting physician at Catalina Island Health, lured employees to his home with the promise of overtime pay.
Police report that he once “pressured” a female employee into consuming an alcoholic drink, which led to her losing consciousness. He is accused of sexually assaulting her and capturing the event on video.
Although he faces a single charge of sexual assault, law enforcement suspects there could be additional victims; officials are encouraging anyone with details to step forward.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Hajhosseini has entered a not-guilty plea regarding the charges.
In response to inquiries, Hajhosseini’s lawyer, Caleb Mason from Werksman Jackson & Quinn LLP, refuted the claims against his client, labeling them as “false” and “salacious,” and highlighted that Hajhosseini had successfully completed a polygraph test.
Dr. Hajhosseini plans to present his case in court rather than through media channels. Mason stated, “In the courtroom, decisions are made based on evidence, not speculation.”
“In fact, there is substantial evidence proving that these allegations are false, and that evidence will be presented in court,” Mason continued. “Additionally, Dr. Hajhosseini voluntarily took a polygraph exam, which he passed. Dr. Hajhosseini looks forward to complete vindication in court.”
