A California art teacher tragically passed away from rabies after attempting to rescue a bat in her classroom, as reported by ABC30.
Fresno County health officials confirmed last week that Leah Seneng, 60, passed away due to the devastating illness, as stated in the report.
In mid-October, Seneng attempted to rescue a bat she discovered in her classroom at Bryant Middle School in Dos Palos, as shared by her close friend Laura Splotch with the television news outlet.
A month following the bite from the winged creature, Seneng became unwell, according to the report.
Seneng’s daughter brought her to a hospital, where she passed away on Nov. 22 — just four days after doctors placed her in a coma, as reported by ABC30.
